Full speed ahead into imagination at Botel Amsterdam
Anyone who steps aboard Botel Amsterdam is immediately embraced by an explosion of color, layered prints, and graphic discoveries. Aboard? Yes, because the check-in desk is located on the water. In a boat at the NDSM shipyard in Amsterdam, to be precise. With striking colors and an extraordinarily vibrant appearance, the interior seamlessly aligns with the hotel’s creative identity. Wherever you look as a guest, you discover new, surprising details in the carpet and on the walls that make the whole a unique and, above all, memorable experience. The prints were used exclusively for this hotel.

Dynamic, surreal atmosphere
ESTIDA handled the concept, design, and realization of this carpet, drawing inspiration from the surroundings. The custom-designed graphic print carpet supplied by TREU features waves and crosses brimming with symbolism. For instance, the waves refer to the water in which the boat rests, while the crosses refer to the city, as Ruth van Toledo, Director of Design at ESTIDA, explained earlier in this interview . Hanging plants pop up everywhere amidst the colorful prints for a lush, botanical vibe. This combination creates a dynamic, almost surreal atmosphere that perfectly suits the distinctive identity of this floating hotel.
Upon delivery of the nautical carpet, TREU ensured that the pattern flowed seamlessly, making it easy for the upholsterer to install. A layout plan was also drawn up in which the various carpet patterns and colors are clearly defined.
