Although working from home has taken off, for many people the office feels like coming home (perhaps even more than before). In providing a comfortable workplace, a PU resin floor lays a good foundation for pleasant working. Here you can read why and what is possible.
High user comfort
A floor that is walked on as much as an office floor requires high user comfort. A PU resin floor provides this on several fronts:
- Due to its flexible, slightly elastic composition and structure, the floor offers the necessary walking comfort. It also makes the floor somewhat sound-absorbing, which benefits productivity in the office;
- Because the floor is applied completely seamlessly and is provided with a liquid-tight finish layer, it is very maintenance-friendly and easy to clean.
Diverse design possibilities
With the wide color palette (white, gray, black and almost every other conceivable color) in which resin floors are available, the design is fully adaptable to the atmosphere and branding wishes at the office.
In addition to beautiful blended effects such as a concrete, marble and terrazzo look, beautiful and practical spatial demarcations can be created. This makes it possible to let the floor connect seamlessly with the experience concept. For example, by providing every space – from entrance hall to meeting room – with its own matching color and/or finish.
Keeping beautiful what is beautiful

When something is unexpectedly spilled or falls on the ground, cracks or damage quickly occur with other floor types, such as tiles and wooden floors. On a PU resin floor, this is not quickly the case thanks to its unique layer structure and slightly elastic character.
With the right finish layer and precautionary measures, a resin floor remains in good condition even with intensive use. Cracking and signs of use such as scratches can never be 100% excluded, but are easy to limit with the right handling and choices:
- With a walk-off mat, causes of scratches, such as sand and stones, are kept outside as much as possible;
- On matte resin floor versions, signs of use are anyway less visible than on high-gloss finishes;
- Due to its elastic character, a PU resin floor conforms better to a somewhat irregular subfloor than a cement-bound resin floor. Cracking due to shrinkage and expansion stresses is therefore less likely to occur. This effect is reinforced by providing the resin floor with a crack-bridging membrane. In connection with leveling, it is otherwise standard recommended to apply a resin floor on a well-leveled subfloor.
