A concrete-look resin floor combines the best of both worlds. Namely: the characteristic natural appearance of concrete with the practical benefits of a full-fledged synthetic floor. In terms of performance and aesthetics, these modern floors are an enrichment for any space, in both homes and office spaces.
Endless possibilities for concrete-look resin floors
By mixing two adjacent colors during the application process, a beautiful mottled concrete look is achieved on resin floors. With the many color options and combinations, a special (and always unique) effect can be created. Some examples of the possibilities:
- The ‘classic’ concrete look is realized with various shades of gray. This version looks like raw concrete (without the disadvantages!);
- A concrete look with natural color tones such as sandy beige, terracotta, and (moss) green gives a very contemporary look and feel that fits well in rural interiors;
- For a touch of extravagance in the interior, a concrete-look resin floor can also be executed in a mix of bold colors such as azure blue and ocher yellow. Be inspired by the many color possibilities of resin floors in this article.
Different names for a concrete-look resin floor
Because different names are used for concrete-look resin floors, such as living concrete, beton-ciré, micro-concrete, and concrete plaster, the search for a suitable floor is not made any easier or clearer. We are happy to clarify the options for you, so you can choose the most suitable application.
Concrete-look floor: cement-bound versus synthetic
At TREU interior specials, we distinguish between two types of resin floors that can be executed in a concrete look: synthetic resin floors and cement-bound resin floors. Below is an overview of the application possibilities and characteristics of both floors.
Synthetic resin floor
A synthetic concrete-look resin floor is liquid during application. The self-leveling floor is applied to the screed and then hardens into a perfectly smooth whole. It is a wear- and scratch-resistant floor that looks sleek and solid, with the elasticity of a vinyl floor.
Its seamless, liquid-tight, and elastic character makes a synthetic resin floor exceptionally comfortable to use. The floor can be installed with underfloor heating and is easy to clean with a pH-neutral cleaning agent.
Suitable solution: the Artificial resin floor
Cement-bound resin floor
For a cement-bound concrete-look resin floor, a cement mixture is used, which is troweled directly onto the subfloor in several layers. By applying a synthetic coating, the porosity of the cement is effectively eliminated, and the floor acquires the same liquid-tight, seamless properties as the 100% synthetic resin floors described above.
A cement-bound resin floor has a stony appearance and can also be applied to the wall. This allows for unique accents that create (even) more unity in the interior.
Suitable solution: the Ambacht resin floor
We have outlined the differences between Artificial and Ambacht for you in this article.
Concrete-look resin floor price
The choice of material influences the price of a resin floor. For example, target prices for the cement-bound Ambacht resin floor are €55-75 per m². For the fully synthetic Artificial resin floor, these are €75-85 per m².
When applying a concrete look, material costs and the required labor increase slightly. To achieve a mottled color effect, a bit more layer thickness and manual work are needed. Contact us for a specific price indication.
