Resin floor experience – everything you need to know about resin floors

Purchasing a resin floor is a durable investment. Naturally, you then go for the very best resin floor experience! Before making a decision, you naturally want to be well informed and read customer experiences. To avoid surprises and make a well-considered choice, we have therefore listed a number of frequently shared experiences with resin floors for you:

Experience 1: Scratches have appeared in my resin floor over time

Resin floors are scratch-resistant, but do not offer complete protection against signs of use. The type of resin floor also plays a role here. For example, PU resin floors for residential use are more scratch-resistant than cement-bound resin floors.

Fortunately, you can minimize scratches and extend the lifespan by properly maintaining your resin floor. Despite careful use, small scratches can still appear on the resin floor. However, the visibility of this damage varies per color and finish. On light colors and mottled finishes, scratches are less noticeable.

Experience 2: My resin floor has discolored

Sunlight can cause a resin floor to discolor. This can be prevented by choosing an aliphatic resin floor. This type of resin floor is UV-resistant throughout and therefore better protected against discoloration by sunlight. Do you choose a different type of resin floor? Then know that dark resin floors are less sensitive to discoloration than light floors.

Experience 3: The underfloor heating does not work well in combination with my resin floor

One type of resin floor combines better with underfloor heating than another. A PU resin floor is the ideal floor to combine with underfloor heating due to its slightly elastic properties. A nice added benefit of this is that you heat energy-efficiently and thus save considerably on energy costs!

When resin floors with underfloor heating are applied over existing floors, a number of preparatory treatments are necessary for good adhesion. For example, any irregularities in the subfloor must first be smoothed out.

Experiences of our customers

To give a clear picture of our working method, we share a number of experiences from our customers below:

From school building to residential complex

For a former Leiden school building, which was converted into a residential complex, we realized a new floor. The question here was whether a good quality resin floor in combination with underfloor heating over a wooden floor was possible:

“TREU interior specials immediately gave us the feeling that we had the same interest. They don’t think in terms of problems but in terms of solutions. Not the buyer and the seller eyeing each other with suspicion, but rather making something beautiful together.”

Skyvilla BOLD

BOLD is an innovative residential tower in Amsterdam with a high-tech appearance. Completely in style with the exterior, we have equipped one of the sky villas with a chic resin floor:

“Stylishly finished, completely in line with the luxurious look we had in mind!”
