However, it is important to know: no floor is completely scratch-resistant, including a resin floor. Advice for resin floor maintenance
How often your resin floor needs a cleaning depends on the intensity of use. Good maintenance begins with regular vacuuming of the floor to remove the biggest causes of scratches, namely dust and sand. It is also wise to mop the floor once a week with a flat mop and a soap-free cleaning agent. In this respect, a resin floor differs little from other floors. Clean resin floors exclusively with PH-neutral cleaning products, such as a PU cleaner that is also soap-free.
Although resin floors are waterproof, it is recommended to clean up spilled liquids as quickly as possible (in any case within 3 hours). This way you can be sure that coffee, wine, and other tannin-containing drinks do not leave stains.

Tips to keep your resin floor clean and beautiful
In addition to cleaning the floor, there are several things to take into account. With the right precautionary measures, you extend the lifespan of your resin floor:
- Use the right cleaning agents. Because resin floors are waterproof, no soap or oil can soak into the subfloor. Cleaning agents themselves, however, can be oily. For example, agents with linseed oil will leave a greasy layer on the resin floor, which in turn attracts dirt. Also avoid the use of abrasive cleaners. Use instead a damp microfiber cloth or flat mop of the same material;
- Walk-off mat. Sand and grit can cause small scratches when there is friction with the floor. By placing a walk-off mat at the entrance, you keep a large part of the dirt outside the door;
- Protective caps. Place protective caps under your furniture. These protect your floor better against scratches than felt pads. Dirt attaches easily to felt pads, which means scratch formation is still a risk when shifting your chair, for example. Do you want to redecorate your home or business space? Try to lift your furniture instead of sliding it;
- Desk mat. When you use a desk chair with swivel wheels, it is best to purchase a transparent desk mat. By placing this mat under your workplace, you create a protective layer that prevents scratch formation.
Despite careful maintenance, it can happen that scratches occur over time. Small, superficial scratches can in most cases be remedied with a resin floor repair kit. Are the scratches deeper? Then there are two options: polishing the floor with a white pad polishing machine or applying a new top layer. In both cases, it is advised to have this done by a professional.
