Resin floors are very versatile and available in a large number of versions, including with flakes, speckles and chips. With the many color versions, you can go in any direction: from a calm and modest effect to lively and exuberant. The application is a trade in itself, but the result is impressive and always unique. Be inspired by the possibilities.
How does the application of flakes, speckles and chips on resin floors work?
Resin floors are applied in liquid state on top of the existing floor or subfloor. By scattering colored flakes, speckles or chips into the not yet cured synthetic resin, the floor gets a somewhat more playful character. You can determine the color combination yourself to decorate the floor according to personal wishes. (We are happy to advise you on well-matching color combinations, tailored to your interior!)
Special technique
The scattering is a trade in itself and requires a special technique. The process somewhat resembles a confetti cannon where confetti slowly descends. The deco flakes are, after all, thrown upwards and flutter down onto the still wet floor layer to subsequently adhere. On top of that follows a transparent coating for optimal preservation of the decorative effect.
The advantages of this version
- Always a unique result. Because of the aforementioned scattering technique, every resin floor with flakes, chips or speckles has its own ‘fingerprint’. It produces an intriguing spectacle that you keep staring at endlessly;
- More flexible than stone carpet. Resin floors with scattering material are usually made of PU resin (such as the Artificial and Artificial concrete resin floor). This type of floor is known for its light damping and pleasant walking comfort;
- Optically less sensitive to dirt. On a variegated surface, dirt is much less noticeable. That makes this floor ideal for intensively walked spaces.

Which effects can be created with scattering flakes?
- Nostalgic. Do you (still) know them, those typical floors with light-colored interior work and dark edges that you encounter in many entrance halls of 1930s homes? Are you charmed by this appearance? Then a terrazzo-look resin floor is exactly what you are looking for;
- Minimalist. Is ‘less is more’ your credo? With a modest amount of color flakes, a beautiful and subtle elegant effect can be realized. Also stylishly minimalist: a white resin floor scattered with black and/or gray flakes and vice versa;
- Rural. Scattering material in natural tones such as sandy beige, moss green and terracotta give an unmistakable rural feeling on resin floors in adjacent base colors. This version reflects well the rich color diversity and pristine nature of the outdoors.
