Terrazzo is back. In 2026, we see the characteristic speckled look not only in entrance halls and classic buildings but also in modern interiors where warmth, texture, and a calm base come together. Are you looking for the appearance of terrazzo in a floor that feels comfortable and is practical for daily use? Then a terrazzo resin floor is exactly what you need.
Below, you can read why this look is so popular in 2026 and why a resin floor version is a smart choice for hospitality environments, among others.
Authentic terrazzo look, with a raw and robust character
We all know them: authentic floors with a light-colored center and dark borders, as often seen in entrance halls of 1930s homes. That typical framing (Granito) is seen less often in modern interiors, but the speckled center is more popular than ever.
A terrazzo resin floor has that same tough look. We scatter granules into the wet resin emulsion to create the characteristic mottled effect. The result is a floor with that recognizable terrazzo vibe, in a sleek and seamless finish.

More comfortable than traditional terrazzo
Traditional terrazzo floors look opulent and luxurious. But due to their cement-bound nature, they are also hard and can feel cold. A terrazzo resin floor is made of slightly elastic polyurethane, making the floor more pleasant to walk on and providing more comfort for daily use.
Furthermore, this floor is perfectly compatible with underfloor heating, exactly what many hospitality projects in 2026 are including as standard in their interior plans.

Low-maintenance and hygienic to use
A trend only lasts if it’s also practical. A terrazzo resin floor is seamless and therefore free of gaps and joints. Thanks to the liquid-tight finish, the floor is easy to clean and hygienic to use.
An extra advantage of the terrazzo look: the mottled pattern makes daily dirt less noticeable. Ideal for high-traffic environments such as restaurants, hotels, and museums.

Always unique, always custom-made
No two stones are the same. And because there are virtually countless color variations possible, every terrazzo resin floor gets its own pattern and appearance. This floor is finished by hand and is therefore unique by definition.
A terrazzo-look resin floor at TREU interior specials is always custom-made. For a home on the Lauriergracht in Amsterdam, we created a custom-made resin floor in RAL 9010, scattered with terracotta-colored minerals. A subtle base with a dose of character. View the project here.
