[On the floor: E.S.T.I.D.A.] “Every detail must be right”

In collaboration with TREU interior specials, E.S.T.I.D.A. has realized several extraordinary projects, including the full interior design for Brasserie Matt’s in Buitenkaag and BOTEL in Amsterdam. E.S.T.I.D.A. specializes in creating leading interiors for hospitality venues, from design to realization. Ruth van Toledo, director of design at E.S.T.I.D.A., looks back on the collaboration during these two special projects.

Welcoming and original designs

Botel - TREU and ESTIDA

The vision of E.S.T.I.D.A. revolves around creating an unforgettable hospitality experience. From the moment of entry until the guest’s departure, every detail must be right. Ruth: “We strive for unique concepts that excel in hospitality and originality. Every project is preceded by extensive consultation and discussions with our clients. We dive into the target audience, their experience, and the steps they take. Only then do we start shaping a matching concept.”

E.S.T.I.D.A. draws inspiration from, among other things, the architecture of buildings, culinary concepts, and artworks from the surroundings. This is clearly reflected in the project for Botel, a unique 3-star hotel with rooms on board a boat on the IJ in Amsterdam. “We chose a self-designed graphic print carpet with waves and crosses here,” Ruth continues. The waves symbolize the water in which the boat rests, while the crosses refer to the city. By going beyond standard solutions, E.S.T.I.D.A. puts its own stamp on every project. “We designed the prints and patterns ourselves. These were used exclusively for the design in Botel. This way, we deliver a unique interior that seamlessly aligns with the client’s vision and identity.”

When fulfilling this mission, TREU interior specials also comes into play. “At Botel, TREU interior specials ensured that the carpet pattern flowed correctly, so the upholsterer could easily process it. Additionally, a layout plan was drawn up in which the various carpet patterns and colors were clearly defined,” Ruth adds.

A sustainable investment

Brasserie Matts - TREU and ESTIDAAccording to E.S.T.I.D.A., a professional hospitality interior goes beyond mere aesthetic appeal. Ruth: “It must first and foremost be a sustainable investment. In addition, functionality is of crucial importance, both for staff and guests. A well-designed interior contributes to a smooth and efficient flow and ensures that everything runs smoothly and effectively. We strive for cost-efficient ways to improve operations on the work floor. Naturally, we take uniqueness into account. We aim for a space that distinguishes itself from all others.” To achieve this, E.S.T.I.D.A. considers the corporate identity and everything it entails, such as staff clothing. “We don’t just give advice, but work closely with the entrepreneur to realize an interior that embodies their vision.”

TREU interior specials also provided the necessary support for Brasserie Matt’s. This cozy and atmospheric restaurant in Buitenkaag attached great importance to the clarity of the colors. TREU interior specials implemented the required factory adjustments to the color files to guarantee the clarity of every color. TREU interior specials ensured the client received good samples and knew exactly what the final product would look like. That provided the confirmation that the right colors, designs, and quality were chosen.

Naturally, functional matters were also considered. During the Botel project, it became clear that the boat is quite noisy. To improve the acoustics, TREU interior specials advised choosing a carpet with a special sound-absorbing backing. “It’s great that all these aspects are considered,” Ruth concludes.
