A resin floor is comparable to laminate floors in terms of scratch resistance, although the degree differs per version. For example, a hard-elastic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.treuinteriorspecials.nl\/en\/collections\/artificial\/\">PU resin floor<\/a> is better resistant to scratches than a hard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.treuinteriorspecials.nl\/en\/collections\/craftsmanship\/\">cement-bound resin floor<\/a>. But a resin floor will never crack by itself. Cracking usually occurs when the subfloor \u2013 often concrete, anhydrite or sand cement \u2013 has been insufficiently pre-treated. That is to say: when the subfloor already shows existing cracks or other irregularities that have not been leveled. An unjustified concern, but an understandable one. Traditionally, resin floors have been used in warehouses and production areas. These resin floors are based on <em>epoxy<\/em>, a much harder type of resin than the type suitable for homes, offices and public spaces: <em>polyurethane<\/em>. This translates into a higher purchase price. But this does not automatically make the floor more expensive, because with normal use a resin floor lasts for decades.
